Catalyst is rebuilding their team in Oregon

For those of you subscribed to Catalyst, you'll probably have seen this email. If ya haven't, well here goes.

    Catalyst Athletics newsletter@cathletics.com via mail211.atl121.mcsv.net
    11:05 AM (17 hours ago)

We're recruiting now to begin building our local weightlifting team.

Stipends and performance bonuses are available.

Must be local or willing to relocate to the Bend, Oregon area.

    Ages 15-24

Must be willing and able to visit for a tryout for a few days after mid-June.

    Send:

    1. Current best lifts: snatch, clean & jerk, clean, jerk, back squat, front squat
    2. Age
    3. Bodyweight (actual, not weight class)
    4. Lifting and general athletic experience
    5. Where and with whom you currently train
    6. Why you want to lift for Catalyst

    Email to recruiting@cathletics.com

We will contact you with more questions if we have them, to request lifting videos, or to invite you for a tryout. Be patient - you may not hear back from us until June even if we're interested.

I still think this might be a joke. They posted an Insta post yesterday of a weightlifting class and it was packed. You would think that if a gym was getting ready to move in 15 days, some things would look to be removed our out of place....

No it's not and I'm really sad. I think there was a lot more to the decision than whether or not they could make money on the gym.

Do they offer any compensation for their lifters?

    Just curious.

    Congrats Greg & Amy

Lifestyle for you and your lifters & being able to focus on the team with great results awaits.

ps it'll take a few months to de-speed and depressurise from the big city lifestyle

Bend is cool too, great mountains and rivers nearby - wish I was still staying up there.
