Yeah, clenbuterol actually does have a tendency to contaminate the body... when taken orally...

Its disgusting. The IOC just doesn't have to balls to come out and say 'WE DONT WANT WEIGHTLIFTING IN THE OLYMPICS'... so they'll drag this bullshit along until they have enough. Do they do this in track and field? in swimming? i wonder...

As far as I understood it, if weightlifting had a slew of positives in Tokyo we are screwed. We are allowed to and should catch as many before Tokyo. These retests probably won’t matter because this sport can’t do anything about it now and it was already punished in Rio for all these infractions. This may just act as a reminder to the IWF (and other countries) that they still need to get their shit together.

2014 AG champ and WR holder Lin Tzu Chi (TPE) banned for 8 years beginning in 2016. She failed tests in 2010 and 2016 but was previously given 2 years each time.

Curiously she just competed in Ashgabat.

Did Vadzim Straltsou get done in during Worlds '18? He didn't post and his Instagram is quiet. Kinda hard to rationalise, given his low training lifts versus almost making 234kg in 2015 with no adverse findings.

Straltsou was on the entry list but not in Ashgabat later. Considering how weak he was recently a ban now would be sad/funny.

I read somewhere on Instagram that he is preparing for the Qatar Cup later next month, along with Aramnau.

Aramnau looks pretty good in his recent training videos (210kg 1+1+1, with easy cleans/squats) so hopefully he does well.

Teenage weightlifter Dayana Dimitrova (BUL) has reportedly been banned from the sport for life after a second doping offence.

That's not in line with the current WADA code. Also:

Dimitrova had already served a six-month ban after testing positive before the 2017 World Youth Championships in Bangkok.
But she competed there and the result is valid? Another weird case.
