    Sunday, 9/10/17 - Joe Mills 20/20

Felt like crap today after spending about 2+ hrs in the sun yesterday (98F and 50+% humidity in AZ), so dropped the planned weight just a bit

    Snatch
    43 x 2, 2, 2
    52 x 1 x 5 OTM
    57 x 1 x 5 OTM
    61 x 1 x 5 OTM
    64 x 1; 66 x 1; 68 x 1; 70 x 1; 73 x 1 - the weight felt fine, and although the lifts weren't great, they were good enough to make all

    Clean & Jerk
    61 x 2
    75 x 1 x 5 OT90s
    82 x 1 x 5 OT90s
    87 x 1 x 5 OT90s
    91 x 1; 93 x 1; 95 x 1; 97 x 1; 100 x 1

    Bench Press
    bar x 10
    43 x 5
    61 x 5
    70 x 5
    80 x 5

Lifted on my new Uesaka bar today. The spin is a bit to be desired and I felt it in the turnover of the snatch tonight, like I had to forcefully turnover the bar to catch it.

    Snatch
    40 x 3, 3
    50 x 2, 2
    55 x 1
    60 x 1 x 5 OTM
    65 x 1 x 5/6 OTM - missed 4th rep
70 x 1 x 5/6 OTM - missed 4th rep again - had to work on forcefully turning the bar over

    Snatch Pulls
90 x 3, 3, 3 - I did these with straps, but hookgripped the first 2 reps and not the last

    Snatch DL
    110 x 5 - these were harder than I would've thought

    Back Squat
    80 x 4
    110 x 2
    130 x 3, 3, 3, 3 - the Sn DL took a bit out of the legs

Another day on the new Uesaka, but lubed it a little with some LPS-2. It's spinning a little better. Going to clean the sleeves this weekend as they're filthy.

Also decided to reel the intensity back just a bit for the rest of the week

    Clean
    50 x 2, 2
    70 x 1, 1
    80 x 1 x 5 OTM
    85 x 1 x 5 OTM
    90 x 1 x 5 OTM - all nice and solid

    Clean Pulls
    110 x 3, 3, 3

    BTN Push Press
    bar x 5
    55 x 5
    65 x 4
    75 x 3
    82.5 x 2
    90 x 1

    Friday, 9/15/17

    Power Snatch
    43 x 2, 2, 2
    52 x 2

    Front Squat
    61.5 x 3, 3
    84 x 2
    102 x 1
    116kg/255lbs x 2 x 6 sets - very solid

I hear you, just a bit. However, I stood it on end with some of the LPS-2 the last couple of days and it's getting much better!! I sucked today, but the bar felt much better as far as spin.

    Sunday, 9/17/17

    Mills 20/20

    Snatch
    40 x 2, 2, 2
    50 x 2
    55 x 1 x 5 OTM
    60 x 1 x 5 OTM
    65 x 1 x 3/5 OTM - missed 1st and 5th reps, all with hookgrip - felt slow getting under the bar
    67.5 x 1; 70 x 1; 72.5 x 1; 75 x F, F, F - all with straps, the 75's didn't feel heavy again just slow/timing off

    Clean & Jerk
    60 x 1, 1
    70 x 1
    80 x 1 x 5 OT90s
    87.5 x 1 x 5 OT90s
    92.5 x 1 x 5 OT90s

Left it here, just not feeling good about any of it today. First bad day in some time, so trying not to be too hard on myself.

People seem to evaluate a bar under only its own load. The quality is shown how it spins when it is supporting the plates. Is your bar spinning slowly during the movements, or just as it sits prior a lift.

I'm not a bearing engineer, but I'd be pretty apprehensive to put anything in there that might clog up the bearings - moisture soaks up particles. Some guys at our gym were lubing with a spray silicone. The bars improved immensely when th collars we taken apart and cleaned.

Drew, the bar spun slow both during the movements and as it sits on the floor prior to a lift. It's better now, and I assume it will continue to get better from what I hear. I'll take my chances with the lube I put in.
