    Competition in Southern Il. It was my first comp in over 2 years. Weighed in at 98 kg, and I've bumped up to the 40-44 Masters age group this year.

    I tried a few different approaches this time. Opened light and made bigger jumps. I mentally tried to think of the competition jitters/adrenaline as something that I could use to lift more rather than something I needed to fight against to stay in control. I also counted attempts myself and had two friends change the weights for me. I angled the bar slightly away from the center judge to avoid distracting eye contact during the lift. Things went very well so I'm logging what I did differently for future reference.

    Snatch
    attempt 1 - 118 good
    attempt 2 - 124 good
    attempt 3 - 130 good (4kg comp PR)
    -warmups (50,60,70,80,90,100,106.5,112.5) went well. All 3 attempts were a little sloppy, but I have bottom position problems that tends to make that happen at heavier weights.

    CnJ

    attempt 1 - 135 good
    attempt 2 - 142 good
    attempt 3 - 150 good
    -warmups (60,80,95,105,115,125) went well. Hadn't gone heavier than mid 140s in months because of some wrist troubles so I was very happy with this.

    6/6, 280 kg total (4 kg PR), highest total at 105.

    50m - 10 sprints with 5 of them over 90% of max speed
    -sprint is a little scarier than I remember it. The knees feel a little more wobbly than they used to.
