    Snatch

-very low volume this week seems to coincide with my weight dropping. Woke up at 95.5 kg this am. Will try to eat a little more so I don't lose too much weight.

Masters World Championships - 8/22 in Montreal.

weighed in at 94.75 kg. With international travel and numerous family members coming to see me, I was a little more nervous than normal - not sleeping so great for about 4 days heading into this competition. I was very relaxed on the actual day of the comp.

    Snatch
118 kg - overturned by the jury. My left arm buckled a little, but I was given 2 whites. I walked back thinking that I had hit the lift only to see that I was up again. Rough start- I set my openers at a level where I am 98% sure that I will hit them. I pivoted my thinking and made a slight jump to 120, which is still on the lighter side.
    120kg - good lift
    126kg - good lift, 96kg M40 American record

-This gave me a 5 kg lead after the snatch.

CnJ - I stuck with my strategy of opening light and making bigger jumps to push up my total. I had hit 150 kg in training and figured that I was good for a little more than that.
    137kg - good lift
    144kg - good lift
151kg - good lift, American record (but was immediately beat by another American lifter).

Total - 277 kg, American record

2 lifters had 271 kg with an attempt left. I had to sweat it as they went for some big CnJs, but it ended up being slightly too heavy for them.

I ended up M40 96 kg World Champ!

Thanks Bulldog73! I wish I was a little better at the full snatch, but I made it work I guess.

Haven't been doing anything too serious lately but have gotten some workouts in. I was considering doing a log press + 18" DL comp, but I'm not sure that my body is ready for anything serious yet.

    Sat

    Log press (10" diam log)
    225lb-2 (clean each rep)

    Incline press

    135lb-5,5,5
-last time I tried to bench I started back too heavy and had a minor pec tear so keeping it light.

hammer curls and some core work

    Monday

    power clean
    111-1

    18" axle DL

    452lb-3

    hamstring curls - 3 sets
