    Guy had a serious heart condition which was congenital. His heart was barely functioning (I do not recall specific numbers or anything else, transplant list, etc.) when he took his life.

    May I ask what the intention of this list is? It seems many of them died in accidents unrelated to weightlifting.

    There is no further agenda than stated. When people die young(er) it usually gets some extra attention, and this is just about weightlifters. If e.g. a Rio medalist would pass away today it'd certainly make news, so perhaps you can read this thread as collected news from the past.

    The dude is legendary for his pressing, yet I think he would have done amazing had he lived to acclimate to the biathlon.     So many died young. This is a good thread for giving some memorial. And yeah, it would appear weightlifters have a strangely antagonistic relationship with motorized vehicles. Go figure.
