Felt slightly run down when I started today. I think I've caught whatever virus had made it's way through the family. I felt pretty bad by the end of this.

    Clean&Jerk:
These were pretty good considering how I felt. No complaints or issues.

    Back Squat:
These were not as good. I was exhausted and hurting for these, but I took a lot of time between sets to rest and managed good quality reps, so I'm happy.

    Snatch:
Not as smooth as they have been lately. Nothing in particular, just a little awkward and off from start to finish. I didn't make what I had hoped to make.

    Press:
Not too bad. I got what I needed, but fell short of what I wanted. I was going to push it to 5 today, but just didn't have it.

It has been a long week and I have no recovered well. I was worn down today, but it went better than I expected.

    Clean&Jerk:
Cleans pull felt strong, catch felt better and more coordinated than it has in a while. I just got sloppy and didn't cup the front rack of that 1 clean. Jerks were pretty good. Shoulder felt solid.

    Deadlift:
My lower back was a little tender during these. I stopped because I was afraid I was going to pinch a nerve or herniate something.

I did basic stretching and some minor dumbbell and cable work during de-load week. I also did a snatch and clean &jerk warm-up on Friday.

I didn't eat as much this weekend and feel a little better than I had recently. Not as bloated and fatigued. But I didn't get much sleep last night, so I'm a little worn down.

    Snatch:
Not very smooth and proficient. I felt very awkward, and I kept landing with my right foot behind me, and on my toes. I hadn't done this in a while. I'm not sure why I'm doing it now. But I felt strong, so I decided to skip a few weights and take a bigger jump than I have been lately. Things went alright until the last attempt. They weren't even close.

    Hang Snatch:
Better than the standard snatch, but not great.

    Bench Press:
I managed 10 reps, but they weren't great. I was a little shaky. I eased back into doing more accessory reps also.

My hip was killing me today. It felt fine after training yesterday and at baseball practice. It started getting stiff around the time I was getting ready for bed, and today it was bad. There was little relief and working it out with some mobility work didn't do much. The good news is that it felt fine by the end of the session.

    Clean &Jerk:
Everything felt heavy, from the bar warm-up until the end. And it wasn't just my hip, it was everything. Cleans were pretty good technically, except that I choked myself on the last one and couldn't jerk it.

    Hang Cleans:
    Good and easy.

    Back Squat:
Really hard, but I managed to get an extra rep.

    Snatch:
These were just a little off from beginning to end. My shoulders were sore and tender in the overhead position. I can only assume it was from the bench press on Monday. Pulls were good and the bar got where it needed to be every time, I just kept dropping it. I'm amazed that I got my goal weight today.

    Press:
Shoulders didn't bother me with the narrow press grip. These were fine. I got what I was aiming for.

    Clean&Jerk:
These went well enough today. I worked on flexibility and mobility a lot today, and over the last few weeks. It's paying off. I was able to pull under and get into a decent catch position at the bottom of the clean better than I have in a while. I managed to hit the goal weight with a clean run. I'm happy with this headed into the weekend.

    Deadlift:
These were decent, except that my patellar tendon started hurting. It was sore when pulling from the ground until about halfway up. I decided not to push them hard. I'm content with getting my minimum reps, unless they feel easy and smooth enough, then I'll go for more. Today was not that day.

No back off sets or accessory work today. I'm going to try to get that knee feeling better.

    Snatch:
Everything was pretty solid, except for 162.5. Once again my foot tucked under and I caught up on my toes. That's very irritating. I don't know where this came from or why. Back off sets were better and smoother.

    Bench Press:
Shoulder was tender today, so none of these were great reps. Still managed a competition pause on the last rep.

Very hard and slow. I barely ground each of these out.

I've gotten very little sleep these last 2 days and it really caught up with me today. I knew this was going to be a rough session.

    Snatch:
These were not very good. Pulls were solid and the bar got where it needed to go, but catches weren't. I jammed my hip on one of the catches, which didn't help.

    Press:
These were decent, but hard. I had hoped to get 6 or 7, but ran out of gas.
