I seem to remember a rumour that what actually happened was Rezazadeh failed a test, but the coach made a deal where he sacrificed the rest of the team to keep Reza. Of course, this is categorically denied by everyone involved.

They used to have fines of $50k/lifter. Remember 2013 when each country had over a dozen lifters pop?

Basically fines dont mean shit to some of these countries.

    Start list is in: https://www.allthingsgym.com/wp-cont...t-List-ATG.pdf

Bad news: no Rostami (or Moradi)... No idea why.

Elback and Tao with 380kg entry totals, Ilya with 360kg...

A big surprise for me is Alihosseini's entry total of 380kg... Davoudi is way ahead with 430kg and will compete for gold here if he hits those numbers.

Moradi just posted a 160kg snatch video on instagram as part of his rehab from injury, so looks like his recovery is going well

Li Fabin gets gold with 141/171. Irawan was disappointing with 133/166 (18kg lower total than worlds last year).

    No WR attempts.

Tao went 175/181/183 and 220/231x/231x for gold and a total of 403
Meso went 170/174x/174 and bombed out in the clean and jerk (220x/221x/222x), he's got a long way to go to get that 231 WR
Ilya snatched 155/160x/160 and 185/xxx/xxx in the clean and jerk (declined his second and third lifts) for a total of 345
Mousavi went 166/171x/171x and 205/207/225x for a total of 373

Ilya no longer undefeated in international competition.
