I just did not have a good press in me today. I was rested and felt good coming in, but once au touched a bar I knew it would be rough. I missed presses that I've made consistently for a while now. I don't know why. I had hoped for at least 2 heavier attempts moving up, but this is what I got.

    Back Squat
    45-10x2
    95x1
    135x1
    160x1
    185x1
    205x1
    225x1
    245-miss
    245x1

Another poor performance. Some lifts aren't really effected by an off week, and some are. I felt good today, just like yesterday, and just like yesterday, I fell short of what I had hoped to reach for a heavy single. It was more of a sloppy technique thing than anything else. I got crooked in my miss, and wore myself out fighting it. The 2nd attempt wasn't terrible, but I was tired and out of time.

    Bench Press
    45-10x2
    95x1
    115x1
    135x1
    155x1
    175x1
    185x1
    195x1
    205x1
    210x1

These weren't too bad, but they weren't great. Every rep was off balance and I tapped the safety bar on the right side every single rep. I don't know why. I've never been off balance like that before. But I managed to hit my goal number.

I sprained my ankle on Friday June 05, and have been out of the gym.

Today I decided to do an upper body pump workout.

This is my first time back in the gym doing anything lower body related, after almost 3 weeks sitting around gimped up.

Overall it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. The ankle felt good and things loosened up quickly. I wish I could have gotten more weight, but I'm happy to have gotten when I got.

I'll ease back into things this week, with very little in the way of heavy accessory work. I'll see where I stand and how I'm feeling and start really hitting it hard next week.

I'm also going to start doing some more bodybuilding accessory work daily. And I'm leaning out my diet.

I'm back to pressing from the blocks. My narrower press grip, when compared to my jerk, made cleans awkward, and there is minimal advantage to cleaning them before pressing, other than the cool factor.

Considering it's been 3 weeks since I pressed, I'm amazed I got as much as I did. I'll take it.

    Cleans
    95x5
    115x3
    135x2
    155x1
    175x1
    185x1
    195-miss
    195x1

Pulls felt good, catches were solid, but my legs were dead. Coming out of the hole was almost impossible, so I ended up doing what I've been doing all too often lately; pulling as high as possible and power cleaning. Only the last rep was a full depth clean from a squat position, and they were extremely ugly and weak. This was all I had in me tonight.

    Back Squat
    45-10x2
    95x5

    160x2
    185x1
    205x1
    225x1
    235-miss

I had the heaviest day at work I've had this year, and it took a toll. I considered swapping squats for bench pressing, but decided against it. I should have done it, as I had nothing to give to sqautting tonight.

I got home late and had to go through this quickly. I just did what I could. I guess I was a little too rushed, I need a little more time for the last rep.

    Jerks
    95x5
    115x3
    135x2
    155x1
    175x1
    185x1
    195x1
    205-miss

The jerks themselves were smooth, but my foot was in fire. It hurt extremely badly. I felt like I could do several more jerks and get them up easily, but I couldn't land them. I couldn't land anything with excruciating pain. I think when the doctors were focused on my ankle, they missed something in the toe/ball area of my foot. It has never stopped aching, and it becomes unbearable when trying to land a split jerk. I may have to go back to power jerking.
