Does this exercise look stupid in a gym?

Isometric shoulder raises with dumbbells shouldn't look stupid. But what if it's done in the traditional Kung Fu horse stance? This is the horse stance: https://images.app.goo.gl/hoerwKv2dMk5jgo28

It's both a strength and endurance exercise among Kung Fu enthusiasts and practitioners. I first saw it in an anime and I thought to myself, for something that comes from a cartoon, it looks pretty cool. The problem is, I don't look like a great Chinese Shaolin monk. Chinese yes since I'm Asian, but not a Shaolin monk. So if they see some goofy fat dude like me doing something stupid, it would only add to the silliness of it all. lol.

But what do you think? Does it look stupid?

    Thanks folks.

I guess it depends on what kind of gym you go to. My last gym was a pretty upscale place with lots of diversity in terms of demographics and training orientation. It wouldn't be unusual to find someone in a corner of the gym doing something like that. Then again, you would have gotten some stares and remarks from the neanderthals who frequented the hardcore body building/powerlifting gyms of my youth.

    yes it looks stupid

when I do russian baby makers I'm sure it looks equally as stupid

do it in "over in the corner", like I do, and don't worry about what others think

way less stupid to do russian baby makers than front raises in a horse stance.

way more legit to do curls in a horse stance

lol. Mbasic and Blairbob, I just want you both to know that I copy-pasted this same exact question to a MARTIAL ARTS forum and all of them made fun of Olympic Lifting and said the horse stance training and other Kung Fu moves are "better" than them.

I'm not kidding you. One of them was mocking tricep extensions.

I wasn't incorrect back when I concluded that martial artists tend to know jack shit about fitness training.

Of course us weightlifters have shit cardio. Even the lean lightweights. lol. But my point remains.

    Thanks.

I've never been to a true powerlifting gym or bodybuilding gym. But every gym I've been in, of course, always had the free weight section with lots of bodybuilders and powerlifters who lifted heavy with their traditional lifts.

I just don't wanna look out of place.

I guess I'll just do this thing at home.
