    Reading KrisG’s log reminded me to bring some front squats back into the rotation. Haven’t done these in a long time. Felt better than I expected. Brought my WL shoes to a local shop and had them add a 1/2 inch wedge to the heal. Helped a lot in keeping a natural stance as opposed to putting my heals on a board for the extra elevation.

    Birthday deadlift competition
    It was number 2 son’s 28 birthday, and as we often do during family get togethers for birthdays and holidays, we hold a deadlift competition after a few drinks. Number 2 son has been bulking up lately and is getting closer and closer to taking the old man down, but I won this round...

    Deadlift
    135 x 5
    245 x 5
    315 x 3
    365 x 3
    405 x 2
    425 x 2 PR for number 2 son
    465 x 3 for me, my son tried this three times and got it to his knees but could not lock it out. Score one for old man strength. I was good for a 500 lb go but thought better to save it for another day...i had been drinking after all...
