    Suspended countries - 2018 Nationals

This thread is used for collecting information about the respective Nationals results from the "Tbilisi 9" and what people can expect before the WWC. I want to gather this stuff in one thread and not across many posts.

    ARM - no website

AZE - Nationals in spring but their senior IWF lifters didn't participate there

    BLR - results

CHN - results, also see here for partial "new categories" nationals

    KAZ - results

    MDA - no website

    RUS - results

TUR - results (in Turkish but easy to navigate)

    UKR - results

So, I guess Ilya is actually lifting clean-ish now? He barely made that 172 snatch from the video that I saw. He doesn't seem very likely to medal at Worlds if he competes at 96, which seems to be his intention.

Clean Kazakstan nationals looks very similar to US nationals..

I think Ilya is going to go to whichever category Moradi is not competing in.

102 might be a weak division. Hard to say but I don't see Ilya winning jack with 380@102. Not even 89.

In honesty, if the numbers are so low and they actually have changed their doping systems (and really, if they don't, they will just continue to get fully banned each year and Olympic event), they may well be as clean as anyone else who is 'clean' like USA, UK and so on. It's kind of exciting in that sense.

We will still have outlier crazies who lift huge KG in the midst of a cleaner sport and get banned within about a week or a mega world record but hopefully less so.

    They´re hardly in peak condition.

Ilya has been training consistently for the last 4/5 months judging by his instagram. At this point in 2014 (~2 months out from the WWC) Ilya had done 190/242 in training, albeit at a heavier bdwt than he is currently. IMO this has nothing to do with not being peaked and everything to do with increased scrutiny in regards to doping.

I completely agree that he is not doing as well as in the past because of the risk of getting popped again. It will be interesting to see how competitive he can be without using the drugs of his past. Or at least as much as them as he did previously.
