So this is going ahead? A lot can happen in 2 months in these covid times so I'm not holding my breath but it will be nice to have something to watch again if it does. My interest in weightlifting is practically zero at this point between covid and the mess that is the IWF.

Russia asked countries with early entries if they intend to send a team despite the restrictions and it seems like all of them will.

    Hopefully it'll be televised.

The entry list seems indistinguishable from previous years as far as countries and numbers are concerned.

Dadashbayli is back (for now), that should be an interesting session between Azerbaijan and Martirosyan of Armenia considering the war those countries just had.

I think he obliterated his knee recently. Pretty sure I saw him on a hospital bed on insta a week or two back.

I guess that doesn't surprise, he was throwing up 190/230 a few weeks ago and giving every impression that he had little self preservation in doing so.

    - 7 entries for SHW women #greatcategories
    - Kashirina gone
    - David Fischer successfully switched from Austria to Bulgaria
    - I expected those who can't qualify for the Olympics to not even bother but nope, everyone's going

A competition at this level would be welcome, difficult broader context notwithstanding

Karlos Nasar BUL 81 has apparently done around 165/205 in training. But born in 2004?
